The Omega 'Fat Arrow' 53 6B/542 wristwatch was issued to Air Ministry (RAF) pilots and navigators only in 1953.
The official Omega designation for the watch is 2777-1 SC which is engraved inside the case back.
The watch is quite large at 36.8mm diameter ex the crown.
These watches were originally lumed with radium and had a thin arrow on the dial but for health and safety reasons the MOD recalled the watches and fitted them with tritium lumed dials as indicated by the broad arrow.
The case, plexi-glass, dial and hands on this watch are all in good condition with just the normal patina consistent with age and military use.
The caseback has the NATO Stock Number 6645 101000 followed by the MOD cat. designation 6B/542 and the individual issue number 6344/53.
The watch is fitted with the standard Omega calibre 283 shockproof movement which has had a complete strip down to the level of each individual part followed by cleaning, inspection, rebuild and lubrication.
The watch is in good overall condition and working very well.
The watch has fixed strap bars and is currently fitted with a new grey 'NATO' type canvas strap. An alternative strap can be supplied and fitted if required.
