Very rare large timer of the Imperial German Navy (Kaiserliche Marine) - this watch is over 100 years old
The signature on the dial is 'Adolf Peters' which was a small watch business in Kiel in northern Germany. They were a supplier for the Kaiserliche Marine.
The manufacturer of the watch is believed to be Berna of Switzerland.
The dial has an artillery telemeter scale with "hm" unit (hectometer = 100m) and "EU" which stands for "Entfernungsunterschied" (distance difference).
On the rear of the case is the Imperial German crown above the letter "M" for "Marine" (Navy).
The watch has had a full strip, clean, rebuild and lubrication and is working very well.
The dial is in lovely condition with just a couple minor hairlines which are quite normal for enamel dials of this age,
The heavy steel case is 63.5mm diameter and is in excellent condition with just a few very minor marks indicative of the age of the watch.
The case number is 5033614 which is engraved on the inside of the caseback and the cuvette.
These watches are very rare and hardly ever come up for sale.
